Calmer AI ("Calmer," "we," or "us") is committed to keeping your data private, secure, and in your control. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Profile Data

  • Email address
  • Username (optional)
  • Date of birth (to verify eligibility)

1.2 Usage & Interaction Data

  • Mood check-in responses (emoji, text notes)
  • In-app activity (breathing exercises, mood logs)
  • Streak and progress metrics

1.3 Device & Technical Data

  • Device type, OS version, app version
  • Crash reports, performance logs (anonymous)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver & improve our service. Power personalized breathing prompts, mood insights, and AI-BFF chat.
  • Analyze trends. Aggregate your usage to surface helpful patterns (e.g. weekly mood summaries).
  • Communicate. Send transactional emails (account setup, security alerts) and optional updates or tips.
  • Protect & secure. Detect fraud or abuse and maintain a safe experience.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell or rent your personal data. We only share when required by law or to:

  • Comply with legal processes (e.g. court orders).
  • Protect Calmer’s rights or users’ safety.
  • Service providers (e.g. Stripe for payments), under strict confidentiality agreements.

4. Data Security

  • Encryption. All chat conversations are end-to-end encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Access controls. Only authorized team members can access production data on a need-to-know basis.
  • Standards compliance. We follow industry best practices (TLS, SSL) to keep your data safe.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • We retain your account data and activity logs only as long as your account is active.
  • Upon account deletion request, we permanently erase personal identifiers within 30 days.
  • Anonymized usage data (stripped of personal IDs) may be kept indefinitely for product analytics.

6. Your Privacy Choices

  • Access & Correct. Request a copy of your data or update your profile at any time via Settings → Privacy.
  • Delete. Tap “Delete Account” in-app or email [email protected] to erase your data.
  • Email Preferences. Unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link at the bottom of each message.

7. Children’s Privacy

  • Calmer is intended for users 18 and older.
  • Users aged 13–17 may only use Calmer under a parent or guardian’s supervision.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in the U.S. or other countries. We use standard contractual clauses and other safeguards to ensure adequate protection.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We’ll post changes here with a new “Last updated” date and, for major changes, notify you in-app or by email.
